About Me

Hello! I am so excited to be working with the 7-4 team this school year and to continue working with this group of track 4 students for a 2nd year. So, a little about my education and career background- I am originally from Long Island, NY and I earned my Bachelor's degree in Human Development at SUNY Oswego. I moved to Raleigh in 2005 and worked as a teacher assistant in elementary school for 5 years. During that time, I returned to school at Peace College and earned my Teaching Certification in Elementary Education and Special Education. I have taught at the Middle School and High School levels over the past 8 years. I am also certified to teach middle grades mathematics and middle grades English Language Arts. I recently earned my National Board Certification as an Exceptional Needs Specialist. I absolutely love working with students and getting to know them individually. Outside of school, I am a mother to two beautiful girls, ages 4 and 8. I love watching them grow and navigate the world. I also have a dog that is 12 years old (I can't believe it!) that I enjoy walking with in the afternoons on the greenway. I am an avid reader and love being outdoors. My girls and I love to go to the beach, lake and pool when the weather is right. smiley I am looking forward to getting to know more about each of my students throughout this school year!
